Paying For Health: It’s Your Choice.
Diet and exercise today…dollars you may not have tomorrow.

With everyone talking about health care reform lately I thought I'd put an article I wrote a while ago back up. What I find interesting is that the focus seems to be providing health care to everyone. I think that's an admirable goal but what I find disturbing is that I don't hear much discussion about people taking responsiblity for their health. Go ahead and pound down those Big Macs with a quart of Pepsi and a pound of french fries every day because when your arteries clog and you have a heart attack, hey, no worries because we all have health care coverage now. There's no need to take personal responsibility for our health when big brother is hear to take care of all of us.
If there are no consequences for bad choices, there's no incentive to change. I think health care for all is a humane goal for our country. However I believe that cost should have some relationship to the effort people make to take care of themselves. In our current system the following article discusses some of the hard decisions an unhealthy lifestyle forces on some people. continue article »

"In maintenance now, I am finding that my body now requires a lot more calories in order to feel full. I am starting to raise them this week in order to meet my body's needs. What an amazing feeling to know that I am now eating 300 more calories/day than I was when I began this journey and my body is telling me it still wants MORE! The best part is, I am doing all of this at 10# and 8% less BF than I was and maintaining that! Believe in this process, your body will reward you for it! And, you will never view food or eating quite the same again Enjoy!"
